Lynette
Erwin is widely recognized as an authority on the life and career
of Anna Storace. She holds a masters degree in vocal performance
and pedagogy with an emphasis on Early Music, Baroque and 18th
Century performance practice, and teaches voice privately. She is
currently writing a biography on the life of her subject.
Ms.
Erwin has
extensive experience in musical theater, opera and operetta. Her
various roles include Laurie in Oklahoma!, Josephine in Gilbert
and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore, the Sorceress in Purcell's Dido and
Aeneas, and Katisha in The Mikado. Her Mozart roles include Zerlina in
Don Giovanni, Despina in Cosí fan tutte, and the Third
Lady in The Magic Flute. She has also performed the roles of Susanna
and the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro. In 1999, she was
featured as the soprano soloist in Mozart's Requiem at the OK
Mozart Festival. She currently sings with the Stillwater Chamber
singers, with whom she is a frequent soloist. Most recently. Ms.
Erwin was featured in the latest Rhombus Media documentary, Mozartballs, which has been broadcast all over Europe and Canada
and which will be released worldwide on DVD by Decca Classics in
November of 2006. |
